Hey. Come over here.
Come on in.
Yeah, close the door behind you. Lock it up.
Have a seat. Right there in that big chair.
Make yourself at home.
It's been a long week, hasn't it?
Day in, day out. Nine to five.
We spend so much time running around, dealing with this and that.
But at the end of the day, it's nice to just take a break.
To just shut it down.
You know, I was thinking about something earlier today.
I was thinking about how fast life moves.
Time flies. It really does.
In the blink of an eye, the day is over.
We are always in a hurry. We are always on the go.
Running back and forth. Up and down.
And for the most part, we don't even know where we are going.
We are just running on autopilot.
Let me tell you a story.
It's not a big story. Just a small thing that happened the other day.
As a matter of fact, it happened last week.
In the middle of the night.
I couldn't sleep. I was tossing and turning.
Over and over.
My mind was out of control.
I was worrying about work. Worrying about the future.
All sorts of things.
I felt like I was under pressure.
I felt like I was running out of time.
So, I decided to get out of bed.
I went to the kitchen to get a drink. Just a cup of water.
It was perfectly quiet. Dead silence.
And all of a sudden... I looked out the window.
And there it was. The moon.
Big and bright. Shining in the middle of the dark sky.
And for some reason, looking at that moon changed everything.
It came out of the blue.
This feeling of... peace of mind.
I stood there face to face with the night sky.
And I realized something.
Sooner or later, everything works out. One way or another.
I thought to myself: "It doesn't matter."
All the stress? It doesn't matter.
All the rushing? It doesn't matter.
In the long run, we are just here for a moment.
So we might as well take it easy.
Do you know what it's like when you drive a car?
Think about it. When you first learn, it's hard.
You think about everything.
"Hands on the wheel." "Check the mirror." "Foot on the brake."
It's choppy. It's stressful.
But after a while? Bit by bit, it changes.
You get used to it.
You don't think about your hands. You don't think about your feet.
You just drive. Keep your eyes on the road.
And the car becomes part of you. Just like that.
Life is the same way.
And listening? It's the same way.
You don't have to figure it out. You don't have to break it down.
You just have to go with the flow.
Life is kind of like a river.
Little by little, it flows. Step by step, it moves. Day by day, it changes.
You can't push the river. You can't force the water.
You just have to let it carry you.
Down the stream. Round and round.
Are you listening? Because this is important.
We spend too much time trying to be in control.
We want everything to be perfect. We want everything to be right now.
But the truth is... the best things happen when you aren't looking.
The best things happen out of nowhere.
Think about when you watch kids play.
They don't plan. They just run.
Side by side. Hand in hand.
They make it up as they go.
They don't worry about making a mistake.
They just want to have a good time.
We should be more like that. More or less.
So, do me a favor.
For the rest of this quiet time, just take a breath.
Deep breath in. Deep breath out.
Put your worries to the side. Just for a while.
Just in case you forgot... you are doing fine.
As far as I know, you are doing great.
You are exactly where you need to be.
Right here. Right now.
In the meantime, just listen to the rhythm of my voice.
Don't try to catch the words. Just catch the feeling.
It's simple enough. It's clear as day. Piece of cake.
Remember the moon? It's still there.
High above. Watching over us.
Time after time. Night after night.
It never rushes. It never worries. It just shines.
I want you to be like that. Just shine.
Don't worry about what-ifs. Don't worry about how-tos.
Just be here. Here and now.
Face to face with the moment.
It feels good, doesn't it?
To stop running. To stop fighting.
To just be at peace. Safe and sound.
So, keep it up. Keep it going.
You are on the right track.
Believe it or not, your brain is loving this.
It loves the rhythm. It loves the flow.
It's soaking it up like a sponge.
Bit by bit. Chunk by chunk.
You don't have to do anything else. The work is done.
For the time being, just relax.
Rest assured, you are getting better.
Every time you listen. Every time you breathe.
It gets easier and easier.
So, take care. Take your time.
And remember: everything is going to be alright.
Once and for all.
Good night.
